Due to the nature of aircraft maintenance, personnel can regularly be asked to work a shift pattern. These can cause problems such as:• Working ‘unsociable hours’, meaning that time available with friends, family will be disrupted
• Working when human performance is known to be in it's lowest state (i.e. between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m.)
• Cultural differences within Saudi Arabia
• Problems associated with general de-synchronisation and disturbance of the body’s various rhythms (principally sleeping patterns).
